TalkRidge (the "App") is a free, end-to-end encrypted messaging and calling application provided by HK Managed Services Provider Limited, Hong Kong (hkmsp.com) ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, creating an identity in, or using the App you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to give valid consent to data processing in your country. By using the App you represent that you meet this requirement.
The App is provided to you free of charge. We may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue the App, any feature, or the backend service at any time, for any reason, without notice or liability. We do not guarantee that the App or its message-relay service will be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any message or call will be delivered.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own lawful, personal, non-commercial communications. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer (except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law), resell, or use the App to build a competing service.
There is no tolerance for objectionable, illegal, or abusive content or behaviour. You agree not to use the App to send, request, or solicit content that is unlawful, harassing, threatening, hateful, defamatory, sexually exploitative (including any child sexual abuse material), or that infringes any third party's rights, and not to impersonate anyone, distribute malware, spam, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service. Abusive users will be removed.
You can block any user from their contact screen. Blocking is enforced on your device and stops their messages and calls from ever reaching you. You can also report a user to us from within the App. Because the service is end-to-end encrypted we cannot see message content, so a report contains only what you choose to include — the reported user's public key, a reason, and any text or excerpt you add. We review reports and may act on them, including removing offending users, typically within 24 hours. Abuse can also be flagged to support@talkridge.com.
Messages and calls are end-to-end encrypted; we cannot see, moderate, or recover your content. You are solely responsible for everything you send, for the people you choose to add by scanning QR codes, for keeping your device and its screen lock secure, and for complying with all laws that apply to you, including any local restrictions on the use of encryption. You use the App at your own risk.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranty regarding security, privacy, availability, or that defects will be corrected. No advice or information obtained from us creates any warranty not expressly stated here.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will HK Managed Services Provider Limited, its owners, directors, employees, or suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, messages, profits, goodwill, or for any undelivered, delayed, or intercepted communication, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the App, whether based in contract, tort, or any other theory, even if advised of the possibility. Because the App is free, our total aggregate liability for all claims will not exceed USD 0 (or, where a minimum applies by law, USD 50). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HK Managed Services Provider Limited from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the App, or your breach of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
You can delete your identity and all associated server data at any time from Settings → "Delete my identity & data". See our Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms; continued use after an update means you accept it. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.
